The Wake Up Call
by Angela
She tries to smile
She wants to laugh
But every time she does
She remembers the past
So she sits in the dark
With her broken heart
Tears stream down her face
As her mind is beginning to race
She feels bad for what she's done
But she can't escape nor run
She is alone and scared
Though no one seems to care
She uses a razor sharp like a Knife
She cuts the skin, Now there's a thin line
She has Tears in her eyes
She wants to say goodbye
She wakes up for one more day
She realizes what she'll throw away
All the people she'll leave behind,
Every opportunity she has now gone
There's a chance this could all go away
The pain, all the suffering gone.
She could live a happy life lived for
Everything she's ever wanted to do
"I can do this, I can make it through"
And she lives for one more day
Each day gets just a little easier
The pain begins to go away.

Me and a friend wrote this poem. It means so
much to me and it tells of how I was feeling when ED had his
control on me.
